WHO WE ARE
The Integrated Reporting Committee of South Africa (IRC) is a member-based association that brings together leading professional bodies, regulators, companies, market participants, academics and organisations to advance integrated reporting and integrated thinking in South Africa.
We support preparers, users, members and the reporting community understand and respond to developments in corporate reporting through practical technical guidance, resources, events and expert insight. Our focus is the integrated report and the Integrated Reporting Framework as well as integrated thinking within the broader South African reporting landscape, including the King Codes of corporate governance and evolving local and international sustainability requirements.
OUR PURPOSE
The IRC of South Africa was established in 2010 to provide practical technical guidance on how to prepare the integrated report. This followed the incorporation of the principles of the King Report on Governance for South Africa, 2009 (King III) into the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) Listings Requirements in February 2010. This introduced the recommendation to prepare an integrated report.
The objectives of the IRC are to:
- Establish and procure recognition and acceptance of what the IRC considers to be good practice in integrated reporting
- Design, disseminate and promote integrated thinking and encourage organisations to produce integrated reports
- Promote the international harmonisation of integrated reporting
